Jesus & Juice
I am fascinated by personal development but also love the idea that all conspiracies are factual, or at least it’s fun to think so. Yes, all of them. Simultaneously. Therefore, my personal algorithm floods with quantum physics, ascension, expanding our awareness, spiritual alignment, you know the like: a soup of new age. I’m often bombarded with videos or posts touting phrases like “enter into 5D” “jump timelines” or “open portals.” I entertain the notion & click on them because the power of the unknown is intriguing. However, I find it compelling that these days our world is provided with these “answers” that are often ambiguous & based on what? I find the same confusion lies in the mega churches filled with waving arms & advertisements for the Lord. It’s the same energy.
My personal favorite situation (one that I’ve adopted) is when people determine that their headaches or digestive problems are directly linked to their ascension. As if diarrhea is the key to a higher dimension. What a great reason to feel like crap. Hey, no hate, there is something to cosmic & terrestrial energy that propels us to be the creatures that we are. The barometric pressure can spark a migraine, full moons make us wackadoo & much of our lives ebb & flow like the tides of the sea.
What connects us to this natural world & what are we doing in our daily lives to either enhance that bond or deteriorate it to pieces? In the wintertime we often close off from the world outside, shelter in where it’s warm & feed ourselves comfort through Cheetos & cookie dough. Or at least I do. So then, how do you realign your spirit to this divine place we call home?
What exactly is the path to a “higher consciousness?” All of the information out there starts to get muffled & most of it, in my opinion, triggers my “woo-woo” eye roll.
When I feel lost or led astray I always turn back to food. Food is a constant, a necessity & a pleasure fueled experience. It is what forms our nature & it is sourced, no matter its path through the supply chain, to & from the earth.
At junctures when we most need redirection food is the control in the experiment. The experiment, however, is our control over it. What we consume pushes us in the direction we’re aligned with, & our free will allows us some sort of control over that decision. What then propels this elusive “quantum leap” & how do we know when it reaches us?
So we turn to outside sources for what to do, where to go, how to live, what to eat, how to feel...all of the questions humanity insists on exploring. This perpetuates industries that haggle God and/or crystals as the secret to enlightenment. We consume the narrative of “intuitives” rather than trusting to our own intuition. The still small voice in our heart is silenced in the name of our betterment. We create excuses from information that we haven’t even divulged, just “I saw a headline that says..”
Arguments spin around in my mind of what is best for me, for my future. This anxiety feeds itself, breeds itself & ultimately can consume you which as I’ve read on countless platforms “lowers your vibration.”
So I digress. Give in to the bustle of confusion. It’s exciting. Trust the cosmos. And get back to the basics that feed our nature.
For my digestion & I guess therefore my ascension into “the new earth”, the basics are liquids. My go-to had always been broth, chicken broth. This past summer coconut water became a new lifeline so for the past several months that duo have supplemented my mediocre diet.
Then we bought a juicer. Chris suggested it after having some cool bougie juice while I was working late. Seemed like an impulse buy, got the cheapest one on Amazon, figured we’d give it a shot. Now, my days aren’t the same without a big jar of juice.
I guess that’s what a quantum leap is. Just reaching a new level in the video game. Now the other levels seem obsolete. It doesn’t have to be a big fortuitous shift in your “life path,” the leap is just a change in your pattern that ripples into your behaviors & habits. This sparks into a whole new way of living. It’s internal. Part of our nature. Adapt & move forward. But, when in doubt, go back to the basics. For me, that’s juice & Jesus.
Some juice combos I’m loving right now…
celery apple grape cucumber
beet strawberry pear spinach or kale (add a touch of cinnamon & it’s Tiger Blood) - Chris’ recipe
carrot orange pineapple beet
carrot apple beet kale
An experiment that has proven to be outstanding…dehydrate the leftover fruit & veg fibers overnight (or bake at low heat in oven for a few hours) then pulse in the blender — this has been an awesome seasoning. Used it in ramen (again, broth), salad dressing, mac & cheese, sloppy joes. It’s pretty much my new salt. But also add salt, cuz salt though.
Some adventures I’m going to try next..
ginger ale. fruit snacks. fruit leathers. muffins.
